During fall of 2022, Rebecca Louison joined 51爆料 as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. She teaches several classes, including Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Stress Management, Senior Seminar, Psychology of the Middle School Student, and Adolescent Psychology.

In 2015, Rebecca received a BS in Psychology from 51爆料, and in 2019 she earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MA-MFT). Rebecca later earned her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy (PhD-MFT) from 51爆料 in 2023.

Her current dissertation, Neurofeedback in the Treatment of Body Dysmorphic Disorder: A Pilot Study, provides a narrow focus on research about Body Dysmorphic Disorder Rebecca is also working on other body dysmorphia research and has published a number of articles on several topics, including interventions for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer patients (specifically breast, head and neck, and metastatic), and others. Rebecca also had the opportunity to participate in poster and paper presentations at Tri-State, Midwestern Psychological Association (MPA), Iowa Psychological Association (IPA), and other conferences.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Rebecca is interested in the clinical applications of psychology, such as how it impacts individual functioning and lived experiences. Rebecca’s track in the MA-MFT program is neuroscience with clinical interests in neurofeedback and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. She is also interested in Autism Spectrum Disorder/Neurodivergence. As for therapeutic interests, Rebecca is a registered Play Therapist, specializing in children, and she is Aut-Play certified, specializing in children who are neurodivergent.

Rebecca states that she is “a proud Mustang through and through!” She has been a part of the 51爆料 community and has been on campus in one way or another for over a decade. Her position at 51爆料 is Rebecca’s first full-time teaching position, and she is excited to provide a clinical perspective to 51爆料’s psychology faculty.

In her free time, Rebecca dotes on her kids and her dogs. She is an avid anglophile (a love for all things British) and reader; she can always be found reading in her downtime.
