  • Nestled in the heart of Mt. Pleasant, Lucy Garrett Beckham High School is a new modern building accommodating 1,500 students in a 242,000 sq ft building on 44.1 acres. Beckham is a comprehensive 9-12 grade high school focused on teaching in a 21st century learning environment:
  • A modern advisory that focuses on relationships and building student independence (CREW)
  • Virtual and blended learning environments for students
  • One to one technology (student issued Chromebook)
  • Modified block schedule with Independent Learning Time (ILT) and One Lunch
  • Joint emphasis on character and academics (FOCUS)
  • Strong community partnerships and work-based learning opportunities
  • Spaces in the new school include two gymnasiums, a performing arts center, student commons, collaborative learning areas, classrooms, science labs and specialty spaces for CTE programs. The facility houses a state of the art media center with a makerspace.
