I went to this school for three years (3rd grade to 5th). Before then, I went to Southern Oak Elementary. When I first got to this school, I was nervous. Everyone knew each other, even the teachers. I thought that my time there wouldn't be enjoyable, and the same chore that Southern Oak was. I was wrong. Not only was everyone willing to let me into their friend community, but the teachers were always very respectful. When we first had to write papers in my 3rd-grade class, I would have a breakdown and cry so loud the teacher had to take me to the office. Now, I get A''s on all of my papers. The specials programs, as they are called, include about 45-minute periods of music, art, and P.E (Physical Education). These parts of the day allow for students to enjoy themselves, while still doing something educational. Overall very good experience out of all of the grades i went through here. It''s because of them that i got the highest possible score on the math FAST test last year! I you still looking for a place to send your kid, this is where you're gonna want them to go.

We are so pleased with the gifted program in Ridgecrest. The gifted teachers are very experienced, and with good credentials. Our daughter used to struggle when she was in a traditional school program during her VPK and kindergarten years because her previous teachers weren''t experienced with the gifted traits and challenges , so they didn''t appreciate nor see her strength . They only focused on her weaknesses ( most of the time gifted students have profound strengths and weaknesses, compared to an average student) , and it was frustrating for us. When she moved to Ridgecrest and was in the gifted program, she truly shined and her reading and writing skills improved dramatically . She used to be in the 94th percentile in Reading and 90th percentile in Math when she was in kindergarten at a traditional school . When she had her MAP tests at the end of first grade and at the beginning of second grade , she was in the 98th percentile in both subjects . At the end of third grade , she can write a story like a pro and able to do long division and negative numbers. Thank you Ridgecrest teachers for everything you do.
