School Reviews

2   10/10/2025
Parent involvement is extremely low if not at all. Its a 3 wing school for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, but 6th grade is in the elementary schools so that wing is unused. What a waste of money. Leadership from the highest level all the way down is lacking. Concern for parents as well as students is low. Safety in the bathrooms and locker rooms is horrible. Lots of gang activity.

Russell County Middle School is as good as any middle school in the area. The parent involvement is low due to its rural area. The staff average to above average and the low parent involvement does detract from student success. Safety at the school is good and there is less violence there than at some other local schools. The athletic program suffers due to a lack of funding, but there are good athletes there. The school system has consistently been used as the valley whipping boy, but is as good as any in area.
